How to Maximize your Internet Speed

If certain websites are taking longer to load than they usually do, try a few of these steps to maximize your connection.

Reset your network.
Sometimes modems pick up interference from nearby networks. To fix this, reboot the modem. The modem is setup to detect interference, and restarting the modem can cause the device to use a less congested wireless signal which could improve performance.
Use the power buttons on your devices to turn them off, or unplug the power cables; wait 30 seconds, and then plug them back in.

Check that there aren't conflicting signals.
IF you're using a wireless router, make sure its signal isn't conflicting with a cordless phone in your home or a wireless camera. If the GHz on your router (usually 2.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz) match the GHz on your phone, your connection might be slower when the phone is in use. Try unplugging the phone base and remove the handset battery. Now, see if your wireless network connection is stable.

Outputting your computer to your HDTV via HDMI works well. Unfortunately, your computer’s placement depends upon the length of the cable. With Google Chromecast, however, you can literally mirror any browser tab or even your desktop, from anywhere, in just a few clicks.

The point when video card manufacturers started including HDMI outputs was a great moment. Similarly, when TV makers began adding VGA inputs, we had yet another great way to add a huge second (or third) display to our setups. The implications, beyond the logical I-can-project-my-computer-screen-now train of thought were pretty apparent. If you wanted to use your TV now to play games from your computer, or watch movies on a big screen, you could now do so easily and cheaply.

I'm not the biggest fan of watches, especially not since the arrival of the cell phone. My trusty Nokia 3210 told me the time and didn't need to be adjusted, so I rid myself of some wrist-weight by putting aside my yellow and black Casio G-Shock and never used it again.

My wrists were free for the next decade, until the arrival of the first Pebble smartwatch , which I was a Kickstarter backer for. My time with it wasn't long, however, as I stopped using the Pebble after a month and it now sits in the office drawer, dead to the world.
